The detailed records given for the birds have been abstracted from the annual reports of the Nottinghamshire (formerly Trent Valley) Birdwatchers 1950 to current. I have the data for 52 of these 60+ years. I have also used The Status of Birds in Nottinghamshire by Jason Reece, The Birds of Nottinghamshire by Austen Dobbs and the website cliftongrovebirds.co.uk. The general comments are based on my own observations which I regret to say span fifty years and growing.
