Several records of this bird concern instances where genuine transatlantic vagrancy could have occurred. These include a female on Bardsey in December 1995 and a male on an oil platform in the North Sea in November 2003 but the species is widely kept in collections and reviews have found no clear evidence for vagrancy. (BOURC 40th report). Breeds; Between 0 and 5 pairs reported 2012-2014.
