Many species of quail are kept as aviary birds and may escape from time to time. The restricted range and non-migratory nature of this species means that it will never make it across the Atlantic unassisted.

The Birdtrader website was selling Mountain Quail in the UK recently saying that they "are full of personality" and a picture of one was posted on Reddit around July 2024, from somewhere in the UK.
