Native Range

North and Central America. From the Canadian border southwards across central and western USA into Mexico. Breeds in the north of this range and resident in the southern states and northern Mexico.

Viles (2024) cites a Lark Sparrow at Landguard on an unspecified date and there are several records in the vicinity on NBN Atlas (though there is no mention of the species on Landguard's systematic list of escapes). Viles suggests there is a strong case for ship-assistance for this and other species.
