An immature bird, first filmed at the Severn Bridge on 12th May 2016 toured Devon and Cornwall until 28th. It had previously been seen in Belgium. The BOURC made the decision to place the bird in Category E because of the likelihood that the bird originated from the reintroduction scheme in the Alps; birds that have originated from re-introduction programmes are not accepted into Category C (part of the British List) until they have a proven self-sustaining population.
