This species has small feral populations at scattered locations across England and Wales. It breeds in small numbers annually and the population seems fairly stable but it is being monitored by the non-native species secretariat for fears that it could become as numerous as Canada and Greylag Geese and damage amenity grassland, pastures and crops.
